What are Restylane Skinboosters?
Restylane Skinboosters will boost your skin from within, to help restore its natural radiance and glow. Skinboosters are a type of mesotherapy that work by increasing the hydration within the skin to provide lasting moisture and improve the skin’s surface. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a naturally occurring substance in the body that has a unique ability to bind water, thereby maintaining hydration in the skin and keeping tissues soft and flexible. As our skin ages and is continually exposed to sun, harsh climates and the stresses of our busy lifestyles, the HA content in our skins decreases resulting in a loss of elasticity and hydration, leaving it dry and a little rough.
Restylane Skinboosters are soft, stabilised HA gels that absorbs water and bring deep skin hydration to the treated areas. Skinboosters help restore the natural composition of your skin to boost hydration and elasticity and reduce roughness. What to expect post-op: Tiny red dots and/ or tiny bumps are visible on the day of the treatment. Minor bruising may occur at injection sites.
Recovery time: Can resume normal work or social activity the day after treatment.
Results: You will notice an improvement after the first session, but the full effect will be visible after the third session. A single maintenance treatment is recommended every 4 - 6 months after the initial series of 3 treatments.

What do Restylane Skinboosters involve?
At your first visit, Dr do Vale will usually perform a full skincare consultation. She will discuss and answer any questions you may have regarding Skinboosters, all options available to you, and the expected benefits and results so that together you can create a personalised plan for your non-surgical facial rejuvenation and skincare.
Each treatment involves a series of hydrating micro-injections with long-lasting stabilised and cross-linked hyaluronic acid (HA). HA is a naturally occurring substance in the body that has a unique ability to bind water, thereby maintaining hydration in the skin and keeping tissues soft and flexible.
As a plastic surgeon, Dr do Vale prefers to do Skinboosters using the Vital Injector 2, a device that allows multiple injections to be given simultaneously, and also accurately administers micro-droplets of Restylane Skinbooster in equal doses, at a precise depth with each injection. The Vital Injector 2 makes the treatment quicker and more accurate compared to alternative methods of administration.
Recovery after Restylane Skinboosters:
The tiny injection marks may be visible immediately and for a few hours after the treatment. Sometimes small bumps are also visible on the skin, but these settle after a few hours. After a Restylane skinbooster, patients are able to return to work or their regular schedule immediately after the procedure, but some clients prefer not to go back to work on the same day. Alternatively, they plan to have the treatment later in the day and go home after. On the day after a skinbooster procedure, mild bruising might be present, but this is easily covered with make-up and settles within a few days.
Restylane Skinboosters gradually build up your skin’s hydration and smoothness. A typical skinbooster treatment program starts with 3 treatment sessions, 2 - 4 weeks apart. You will notice an improvement after the first session, but the full effect will be visible after the last session. After the initial Restylane skinbooster treatment, maintenance treatments are typically recommended every 4 to 6 months to ensure lasting results.
